Quarantine Let me reiterate that not all dreams need interpreting. But for those dreams that you feel might need such assistance, that’s what this theme is all about.
Like many elements of a dream, quarantine is a double-edged sword. It can have two meanings depending on perspective: are you the one quarantined, or are you looking at the quarantined. Big difference.
Quarantined generally insinuates creating a distance between you and someone or something else. An action needs to take place to change an outcome; or you need to run in the opposite direction.
Quarantine may not be a bad dream. It could be a warning of self-protection in advance so that you or someone else does not make a mistake or get hurt.

Question Have you had a dream that included quarantined, regardless of the side of the quarantined door you stood?
I don't think this is a theme I have ever had in a dream, not that I remember. I can see how it could work as that interpretation - that or you've just been watching Outbreak too much :).

THis theme has not turned up my dreams - yet.
ReplyDeleteChallenge isn't over yet. And we all dream. The trick is to remember them.
DeleteInteresting theme, but not one that I've had.
ReplyDeleteNo, I don't think I have. Now watch me have one in the next couple of days because I read about them here.

Seena, maybe in our lifetime we'll be able to record and play back our dreams. We're only beginning to tap into how our brain works.
DeleteI can't remember ever having a dream involving quarantines. Your explanation certainly makes sense.
ReplyDeleteI've been locked inside places and can't get out--in dreams that is. Wonder if that's a quarantine dream?
ReplyDeleteCould be but there is so much we don;t understand about dreams.
DeleteHi Steve - no I haven't experienced being quarantined in a dream ... I was quarantined at school for 3 weeks - til they sent me home ... there was a virus out ... I was one of 9 in Oxford that caught it ... so I'll stick with that experience ... cheers Hilary
ReplyDeletenot been quarantined, but that could be scary
ReplyDeleteNot had that dream that I recall. But if you think about it, in some situations, a reverse quarantine could be a good thing. For instance in Walking Dead, isn't Alexandria basically a quarantine for the non-zombies? I mean, look at the fencing and the gates and the guards - def keeping one group away from another.
ReplyDeleteYes. This is a different perspective but definitly makes sense.
DeleteI hadn't thought of it that way, but I guess I have had quarantine dreams about someone very close to my heart; I keep sneaking her out because I know she's really okay;-)
ReplyDeleteNo, don't remember any dreams like that.
ReplyDeleteAfter I just watched the new series 'Contaminated' I might have a bad dream about that.

Susan, I saw the trailer and this series is right up my alley.
DeleteNever had that kind of dream. I'm usually free to move wherever I want in my dreams.
