Salem’s Daughters Blog Tour Schedule

Hi everyone, as always, thanks for stopping by! Well, it’s finally here. The Salem’s Daughters Blog Tour. Just look at this star-studded, All-star lineup of incredible writers and bloggers. I have some great topics lined up and hope you stop by to say hello. So with no further ado, here they are:

Monday October 5th The ninja himself Alex Cavanaugh. Introducing the Ladies. The thirteen cats, errr …. witches, erm, rather the disembodied souls inhabiting cats and their unique abilities which they use to work together and terrorize a modern day bed and breakfast called Murcat Manor.

Friday October 9th - Susan Swiderski at I Think Therefore I Yam and Dark and Snarky Humor.

Tuesday October 13th - Stephanie Faris at Children’s Author and Children In My Novels. I never kill children to make bad guy badder or further the plot. But I still need to make the kids bad. Good kids are boring. Here’s how I do it.

Wednesday October 14th - Crystal Collier at Unleashing the Dreamworld and Strong Female Kick-ass Characters.

Friday October 16th – Lexa Cain at L.X. Cain and Ancient Time Traveling Curses.

Monday October 19th L. Diane Wolfe at Spunk On A Stick’s Tip and Marketing and Promoting Outside the U.S.

Wednesday October 21st – Jo Wake at Life and a Scent of Chocolate and Food. I use food as an inanimate character in all my books.

Thursday October 22 – Barbara at Life and Faith in the Caneyland and Bad Girls of the Bible. Inspiration for characters can come from anywhere.

Monday October 26th – Arlee Bird at Arlee Bird and Using real events from your family's history in novels.

Friday October 30th - Chrys Fey at Write With Fey and Dreams. I find dreams and their interpretations fascinating and dreams have a special place in Salem’s Daughters.

Monday November 2nd – Hilary Melton-Butcher at Positive Letters and Inspirational Stories and Setting. Where better than Hilary’s website to post about the setting of a story. Hilary researches and writes about places and their history better than anyone I know.

Wednesday November 4th – Lynda R. Young at W.I.P. It and Character Development. When I write a story, my characters fight for face time. They are ruthless and cut throat and some minor characters become major ones as they elbow, bite, scratch and kick each other competing for a larger role.

Monday November 9th – C. Lee McKenzie at The Write Game and Magic. There are many ways writers have their characters use magic. This post is how the cats perform their craft.

Wednesday November 11th – Michael Di Gesu at In Time and the dreaded To Be Determined.

Wednesday November 18th – Betty at A Bench With A View and Science, the Bible, and the Supernatural. Much of the crazy stuff that goes on in my books are taken straight out of the Bible, a great source of inspiration for any writer.

Monday December 7 – Carole Kilgore at Under The Tiki Hut and Getting Away From It All. For my protagonists Bob and Debbie Stevens, Murcat Manor is their Tiki Hut, a place to get away from the hustle and bustle of a back-stabbing corporate life. Unfortunately, thirteen cats have different plans for them and their guests.

A big round of thanks to these awesome and amazing bloggers for helping me! There hail from all around the world representing various genres. I’m looking forward to a great time. Salem’s Daughters is definitely a Fall-themed book and with Halloween right around the corner it's a perfect creepy fun read.

Evil Cat from Murcat Manor
Short Blurb: A four hundred year old evil is unleashed when the daughters of those killed during the Salem Witch Trials find a new generation of people to murder at a popular modern-day bed and breakfast.

I writes Speculative Fiction and embrace science and the supernatural to help explain the universe, our place in it, and write one of a kind thrillers.

Deep Space Here We Come, The Martian, and Kepler Space Telescope

Deep Space Here We Come: Last week Jeff Bezos and his company Blue Origin announced they want millions of humans living in space and he is going to do his best — and spend whatever it takes — to make that happen. NASA recently awarded two contracts to Deep Space Industries Inc. to accelerate the agency’s plans to partner with private industry on asteroid prospecting and harvesting. Elon Musk with SpaceX and Sir Richard Branson of Virgin Galactic are incredible deep space visionaries.

It’s incredible how in one generation we will have the money and people to make this work. We’ll see it on our life time, even if we witness only the beginning stages. And there are no shortage of best sellers and highly anticipated movies to wet our appetites for exploring that final frontier.

The Martian: When astronauts blast off from the planet Mars, they leave behind Mark Watney (Matt Damon), presumed dead after a fierce storm.

With only a meager amount of supplies, the stranded visitor must utilize his wits and spirit to find a way to survive on the hostile planet. Meanwhile, back on Earth, members of NASA and a team of international scientists work tirelessly to bring him home, while his crew mates hatch their own plan for a daring rescue mission. Starring Matt Damon and directed by Ridley Scott, The Martian hits the big screens October 2nd.

Glad to see the list of upcoming Sci-fi flicks including Star Wars, The Passengers, Star Trek Beyond and Independence Day Resurgence among others will keep science fiction junkies happy well into 2016.

Did You Know: Mars exists within our Sun’s habitable zone, or the Goldilocks Zone, although it is slightly towards its outer edge. This is a region around a star that that has the right conditions to find liquid water and possibly a breathable atmosphere on a planet's surface.

Fun Facts: The Kepler Space Telescope has confirmed more than 1,000 alien planets since its launch in March 2009 and spotted thousands of candidates which scientists expect to confirm a high percentage as planets. In April 2014 it identified the first Earth-size planet in the habitable zone of another star. While planets have previously been found in the habitable zone, they are all at least 40 percent larger in size than Earth and understanding their makeup is challenging.

Salem’s Daughters Blog Tour: I’ll be doing the Salem's Daughters Blog Tour during October and the first half of November and you’re all invited! Black tie and glass slippers not required.

I’ll announce the All-Star lineup next week. Although the official release of Salem’s Daughters is Thursday October 1st, I won’t kick off festivities until Monday the 5th.

Question: Do you plan to see The Martian? Would you take a commercial trip into outer space (assuming you had money to burn and buy a ticket).

Cover Reveal, Autumn, and Football!

Hi everyone, as always thanks for stopping by and saying hello! Autumn is right around the corner and a new season is in the air. We transition from a time of heat, humidity, and kids home for the summer into a cooler season. Halloween and Thanksgiving will be here before we know it.

I love Fall. It’s my favorite season. This is the perfect time to release Salem’s Daughters. I’m so glad I pushed the date forward. Twice. This gave me time to receive much needed feedback from my ARC readers and do two complete line edits and clean up all those countless little things.

Cover Reveal: Salem’s Daughters, is supernatural thriller. A four hundred year old evil is unleashed when souls of the daughters of those killed during the Salem Witch Trials find a new generation of people to murder at a popular modern-day bed and breakfast.

For a full synopsis and to pre-order a copy of Salem’s Daughters for $2.99 (price goes up to $4.99 soon after release) Click Here

A great big thanks to my nephew Jeremy Tremp who designed the cover art. Much better than my cat in a hat concept. And feel free to help with the Cover Reveal during the next couple weeks. If you feel so inspired you can share the image, blurb, and link to pre-order.

Release Date: I go live October 1st and kick off a blog tour and all that good stuff. I’ll announce the tour dates later this month. I love the promoting part of writing a book. I have lots of really cool stuff planned that I’ll share as I go along. Well, that’s it for now. I’m busy finishing up the Salem’s Daughters Blog Tour posts and watching a lot of football.

Question: Do you have a favorite college or pro football team? Detroit Lions and Michigan State Spartans are mine.

Not Much To Talk About Post

Not Much To Do
Well, not much to talk about this week. I’m finalizing posts for my upcoming Salem’s Daughters Blog Tours, doing yet one more final line edit, and taking care of promotional loose ends and such.

Next Book Series: I’m already looking ahead to a new M/G and Y/A series. Think Percy Jackson in a Sci-fi role 150 years in the future as we continue to explore ….. ah, I’ll hold off a bit on the specifics.

But I should announce the details by the end of the year as I have quite a bit of the story outlined. A lot of artwork will be needed to help promote the series. I can do some of it, but will need help I’m sure as there will be new worlds that will have to be conceptualized. A wide range of characters and modes of travel, too. That’ll be a lot of fun as I’ve always loved art.

Well (yawn), that’s about it. I do have my Blog Cover Reveal slated for Monday September 14th so I hope you’ll stop by for that. Have a great week!

Question: What’s the latest and greatest with you this week?

Insecure Writers Support Group and Cover Reveal for Salem's Daughters

Hello everyone, and as always thanks for stopping by. It’s that time of month again for Alex J. Cavannaugh’s Insecure Writers Support Group. His co-hosts this month are Julie Flanders, Murees Dupe, Delorah at Book Lover, Christine Raines, and Heather Gardner

I have my fourth novel Salem’s Daughters coming out October 1st, just in time for Halloween. So what’s my concern this month? Reading through the text again and again and fixing things.

ARC Readers: A big thanks to my ARC (Advanced Review Copies) readers who provided feedback regarding content, line edits, and typos and such. No writer would be successful without their ARC readers.

Cover Reveal: One of the few things left to do is a Cover Reveal (some of you have already seen the new cover art on Facebook). My nephew, who did my first three books in the Breakthrough series, really came through for Salem’s Daughters which is far better than the cat in a hat design I came up with.

If anyone is interested in helping me with the Cover Reveal for Salem’s Daughters, please leave a comment or reply at stephen.tremp@yahoo.com and I’ll email you the really cool looking image. The day for the Cover Reveal in the Blogosphere is Monday, September 14th or any day after that. Thanks in advance for any support you can give.

Pre-Order Salem’s Daughters: But wait, that's not all. You can pre-order Salem’s Daughters for $2.99 here at Amazon Kindle

Did You Know: NASA’s spacecraft New Horizons is finished with the former planet and now dwarf planet (boo!) Pluto and is heading on to new missions deeper into space. Images and data from this amazing planet and its five known moons will take up to eight months to reach the Earth.

Fun Facts (or theories): The Kuiper Belt and the Oort Cloud (theoretically) are what lies beyond Pluto. Just what the heck makes up these regions at the edge of our Sun’s gravitational influence? Join me at the Blogging A to Z website for insight into these mysterious and fascinating regions of our solar system. Simply click Einstein’s smiling face at the top of my left side bar or Click Here on Thursday.

Question: What’s on your mind this month for IWSG? Can you help with my Cover Reveal?
