Key Cards: Cards that are used in a card-guessing experiment. Participants of this experiment try to guess of five symbols from a deck of cards that are shuffled and presented randomly.
If you saw the movie Ghostbusters, at the beginning Bill Murray is conducting just such an experiment with hilarious consequences.

Key Card scene from Ghostbusters:
Most interesting Stephen, never heard of Key Cards before.
ReplyDeleteHave a good day.
Ghostbusters is awesome :) I think the cards are used in every movie to have such a scene - I seem to remember them in Dreamscape too :)

ReplyDeleteInteresting not: Dan Akroyd lived in a Haunted House and got much of the inspiration for Ghost Busters from the activity in his home.
ReplyDeleteOnly 75 more to go! That's great. I love this movie and I think my kids are almost old enough to watch it. Can't wait.

My best friend and I went through a stage in high school where we were convinced we were psychic and played around with cards like this. Unsurprisingly, we didn't end up being psychic...
ReplyDeleteI just watched this movie, and of course this scene, a few weeks ago for the first time in ages! Such a great movie. I heard they're doing a remake? Don't know if I'll see it... Lisa, co-host AtoZ 2015, @ http://www.lisabuiecollard.com
ReplyDeleteLisa, I heard the remake was with women as the Ghostbusters and guest appearances from the original show.
DeleteI remember those. I think I could pass the Key Card test. Or NOT. :)
ReplyDeleteWhy am I thinking he had no HSRB approval for that project... XD (this is my academic brain talking)

Ah yes these cards-I think I did this when I was in University but thankfully, I was not hooked up to any shock machine:)
ReplyDeleteBrigit, a lot of people tried this at one point of their life. I did, but my results were not very good.
DeleteI remember that scene.
ReplyDeleteMy brain must be dying. I had a brain freeze over key cards. x)

Thanks Timothy. I had not heard of that term.
DeleteI had read your Karma post after I had submitted mine and thought yours was awesome actually. Lucid dreams...hmmm, I had not chosen my L for today but I like that one too. I have had lucid dreams for years and when they are great dreams, if I wake up, I keep my eyes closed and get back into the dream:) Scary dreams are tricky but I can usually force myself to wake up...I don`'t like those though. Ilook forward to checking out your book. I am from Tracesofthesoul but also have a blog just on haiku at http://cheryllynnroberts.wordpress.com
