Today we go to Nicki Elson’s Blog for one of my favorite topics: Science Meeting Science Fiction. Much of Star Trek has come to pass within our lifetime. Cell phones, phasers, and MRIs are used daily. Warp speed and beaming people around, however, are yet to be unraveled. But stay tuned. We as a species are well on our way.
Don’t Believe Me? Alrighty then. Stop by Nicki Elson’s Website for more on our voyage on leaving Earth’s domain and exploring our solar system. And BTW, NASA has confirmed we have officially left our solar system. The Voyager 1 probe is the first human made object to leave our solar system and is now somewhere in interstellar space.
“Scientists now have strong evidence that NASA's Voyager 1 probe has crossed this important border, making history as the first human-made object to leave the heliosphere, the magnetic boundary separating the solar system's sun, planets and solar wind from the rest of the galaxy.” REFERENCE

To Infinity and Beyond! It’s not just a slogan anymore.
I do wish I wasn't so old, I would love to see what's going to happen in the next 50 to 100 years.
ReplyDeleteI wish I was younger as I hate the thought of leaving my son to deal with some of this on his own.
ReplyDeleteWow. Amazing what's happening and what will happen. :)
