  1. Good luck with NaNoWriMo, Stephen! Sounds like you're well-prepared for it.

  2. Good luck with Nano! I usually participate, but I've done so much writing this year that I need to catch up on admin and marketing.

  3. I've never tried NaNo. It doesn't work with my work schedule. Good luck with your writing next month. Hope you hit the 50,000 word goal.

  4. Good luck with NaNo. I did beat it the year I tried it but boy that was tough for this slow writer.

  5. Good luck! I took part a couple of times and didn't win but got major chunks done. Anything to get the motivation going has to be good.

  7. Go, Stephen, go! There's only political ads - oh and the NBA finals or baseball or football to distract... Pack a lot of snacks - and have fun!

    1. Thanks PJ and yes snacks are a big part of NaNo.

  8. Whoohoo! Sounds like fun! What happens if you surpass your daily goal? Yeah, I've reached the 50k goal before the required time. It's difficult to set specific time aside for writing like this with a houseful of demanding kids.

The first and last time I joined NaNo I was at a hotel for a week straight--needless to say, without kids underfoot, I reached the goal in a week. Who needs to eat and use the bathroom? ROFL

    1. Hi Elizabeth thanks for stopping by. Yes a week to one's self is the dream of every writer.

  9. Good luck with NaNoWriMo, Stephen. I've never participated in it before, but I'm going to do so this year. I've got a mess of a memoir that I'm going to work on ~ not fiction I know, but I need to shake things up and get moving forward again. We'll see how it goes!

  10. Well I'm intrigued by the brief overview of your idea! Good luck with NaNoWriMo. I keep thinking I will participate and then next thing I know the month is gone. If there ever was a year to write it has to be this one? Thanks for the encouragement/challenge?

    1. Hi Helen, I say give it a whirl. Even if you simply outline something the characters and settings and such it will be worth it.

  11. I've never done NaNo but am always so impressed with those who do. Good luck!

  12. I've done NaNo a few times and won twice, including last year. For me, the secret is to start prepping in about August--outline, character sketches, all that good stuff, so when Nov. 1 hits, I'm ready to bust out the words. I doubt I'll do it this year, because 1) I haven't prepped, and 2) I'm moving to a new city at the end of October, so I may not even have internet on Nov. 1. Bummer, because I'd love to start a new project (mostly to avoid last year's NaNo project, which has proven frustrating to edit.

    Good luck this year!

  14. Thanks I just want to get my MS to the next level not complete it. But yeah I think I can get a lot of work done.

  15. I adore NaNo! I've "won" it multiple times and it's always left me with a solid base for a story. I'm thinking I might do it again this year, but I have to do some thinking first!

  16. Good luck with NaNo! Nope, I've never given it a try. I write way too slowly to churn out that many words in a month, but I can see where participating in it could help get the writing gears in motion. Maybe next year.

  17. I lack the organizational skills to write an outline. I'm a wierd writer - I enjoy the editing/re-writing process better than the initial creation of the story.

I attempted NaNo once, and made it through about a week. Good luck to you.
