Taking A Break

Well folks, I'm going to take a break. I can't seem to get rid of this malware on my PC or laptop and both my go to fix it PC repair guys are not available until next week.

Since it's nearly impossible to leave comments on other blogs I'm going to take a break. I don't feel right having the good people of Blogdom visit me and leave comments when I can't reciprocate.
The Council of the Mighty Lava Lamps

But I will do some visiting as I can use my kids Kindle Fire and my cell phone, neither of which are practical for blogging. But I will stop by and say hello when I can.

In the meantime, I will continue to write Murcat Manor as the malware does not effect using Word docs.
The Grand Poobah of Lava Lamps

Thanks again for being such awesome blogging pals and I'll be back up and running in a couple weeks.

Until then, well, you know what to do. The Lava Lamp is once again in charge. All heed the Lava Lamp.

  11. Man, that stinks. So sorry about your trauma. I'm wishing you the very best in all your malware-cleaning. My techie hubby's favorite filter of all time is Malwarebytes, which you run manually as often as you want but don't have to keep running in the background all the time. The hubby also says if you stay away from porn or gambling sites and never click on a link from an email, you should be able to avoid all malware.

    1. Crystal, I definitely stay away from those sites. Plus, I have young kids too. We got the malware from CNET downloading software there rather than the site that is the source of the download. I thought CNET was a trusted safe site. Turns out, this is a way they make money by sneaking in ways the malware when you agree to download the software. I studied up on this and found out CNET does this thousands of times over to unsuspecting people.

Lesson learned, only download software directly from the source that makes it.

  14. I had to clean a PC of a trojan by myself once (with AOL techie help). All the best to you. Stopping by to thank you for visiting Life & Faith in Caneyhead during the challenge.

  16. I'm sorry you're going through this. I once used a flash drive on work computers that didn't have antivirus and transferred the bug to my computer. It was horrible. I hope everything gets resolved.
