A to Z Theme Reveal: Dreams

My A to Z Theme Reveal: Dreams

Where to begin? I could blog on this topic alone for a solid year and only scratch the surface. As far back as we have written records, there have been accounts of unusual phenomena occurring in connection with dreams.

Dream interpretation is something I find fascinating and have studied for decades. Let’s go a bit deeper. What are the sources of dreams? Where do they come from? Within the person? God? An outside source? That bad burrito or double pepperoni extra cheese pizza you ate before going to sleep?

I’ll be exploring what dreams are, the different types of dreams, and the meaning behind things in our dreams such as colors, people, location etc. It’ll be a lot of fun and I hope you stop by and visit during A to Z. I’m confident you won’t be disappointed!

Very Cool Astronomical Events I know people want to visit a lot of blogs and see the themes their blogging friends have chosen. So I’ll highlight a couple celestial events and leave a link if you want to come back and follow up.

The Comets Are Coming. The Comets Are Coming I had to say that twice because there are two.

“This is one for the record books,” says Michael Kelley of the University of Maryland, who’s never heard of two comets approaching close to Earth a day apart ... It’s a fantastic opportunity for professionals to learn more about comets, and if you have a chance to try to find them and see part of history as it happens Reference Link

Baby Planet Ultrasounds Planets are a lot harder to study than stars, because they do not give off any visible light or radiation on their own

"This is quite different from the case of star formation, where, in different objects, we have seen stars in different stages of their life cycle. With planets, we haven't been so fortunate, so getting a look at this very early stage in planet formation is extremely valuable." Reference Link

Question: What's your Theme Reveal? Do you find dreams fascinating, or do you pass them off as crazy stuff your brain is thinking as you relinquish control of it while you sleep?

  1. Dreams have always been fascinating Stephen. I will be interested to read what you have to tell us about them. I don't do a theme reveal as my theme is always food related. Although, with everything going on in my life lately, I am not sure I am going to make it.

Two comets at once? Hope they aren't coming too close. Star formation? Also very interesting.

  2. Sounds like an interesting topic, Stephen. I don't know much about them, as far as trying to interpret them, etc. I do know I've had dreams related to what may be stressing me out at the time; like currently since we are moving in a week, dreams are related to not being ready for the move, etc. I don't like the nightmares I get sometimes which is interesting because my mom also got similar nightmares. Revealing my theme shortly :)

  3. Hi Stephen - Dreams .. that will be interesting for the A-Z ... while keeping us up to date with some cosmic action and happenings ... those comets will be amazing to see ... cheers Hilary

  4. You've picked a deep topic this year :) I think my dreams are just my brain sorting out the day's events in weird and wacky ways, but I firmly believe one friend definitely had prophetic dreams, even if they were never straightforward. He was a very interesting man before he passed away.

    1. Natasha, the trick is to distinguish between the two. I know most of my dreams are my brain sorting through stuff.

  5. That will be an interesting and complex theme. (Look, the frog already has a question.)
    Two comets? Wow.

  6. It'll be interesting to learn more about dreams. I wonder what it means when you can't remember many of them--that's me.

  7. Dreams fascinate and terrify me. (I get night terrors.)

My theme's all about the book I'm releasing at the end of the month. :-)

  8. I'm frequently looking for dream interpretation when mine get bizarre. Sounds like a cool theme. I often have dogs in my dreams. But last night I had a dream that I went with my cousin Heather and her fiancé to Vegas, but it was super cheesy. It was like the dirt mall in the movie Mallrats. There was a fake Starbucks that served drinks with coffee flavoring instead of actual coffee. It was a dumb dream. And no, we didn't gamble, and they didn't Elvis elope. It felt pointless!

  9. I love dreams. They are so entertaining. I have even more strange ones when I stay away from the TV. Last night I dreamed I went to Universal and got these beautiful Harry Potter wands carved in the shape of trees and birds (probably because we are going there next month.) Great idea for a theme.

  20. I've always been interested in the deeper meanings behind our dreams. Yes, I do think some of them are the burritos but too many times you wake up and just feel like someone/thing was trying to tell you something! I'm looking forward to reading your posts! Thanks for stopping by my place today!

  40. If I remember my dreams, they usually includes running and hiding. I tried looking up the meaning of that, but the interpretation sounded like a horoscope, terribly unspecific. Maybe I'll learn more through your theme!

  41. I so loved your theme last year so I was excited to see what you'd come up with for this year. I'm not disappointed! Dreams is a fascinating topic and I look forward to all that you have to share with us! I love dreaming. I dream every night and usually have very vivid and colorful dreams. It's like I go to the movies every night when I close my eyes because I almost always have very interesting and intriguing dreams. I do have one recurring dream (or dream element) that keeps popping up and it has been for years. Still trying to figure out what it means and it's been bugging me for at least a decade! Maybe I'll find an answer with your A-Z...
    Great theme Stephen.
