Thank you all for visiting and hopefully commenting. ;)
Excerpt: Liberty Sawyer glided swiftly through the horde of police officers, reporters, and on- lookers. Black hair fell from a rigid part in the middle of her scalp to her hips. Her eyes were a soul-stabbing blue and her lips were blood-red. She towered over the other officers on the scene, and wore all black, which set off the pallor of her skin.

Showing her badge to the officer, she slipped under the crime scene tape. A few paces away, she spotted Detective Corbin talking to his new partner, a man she knew by name but hadn’t had the privilege of meeting yet.

“I cannot believe you called her,” the new man was saying when she came up behind them.

“We don’t need a damn psychic!”

“Actually, I’m a witch.” She smiled when Reid jolted and turned to face her.

“I’m Detective Liberty Sawyer.” She stuck out her hand.

“Detective Reid Sanders,” he grunted back and took her hand. The feel of his palm against hers sent tingles of lust from the tips of her fingers to her shoulder blade, and she knew he felt it too by the way he jerked his hand back. She winked at him playfully, hoping it would unnerve him even more.

Blood, Boobs, and Carnage Blogfest

Blood, Boobs, and Carnage Blogfest: Post about a movie, television show, book, or all three that falls into the category of Blood, Boobs, and Carnage. (Or just Blood and Carnage or other mixture.) It can be any genre that fits the bill – fantasy, science fiction, action, adventure, western, thriller, etc. Here’s a few examples – Conan the Barbarian, Breaking Bad, Fast and Furious, The Watchmen, etc Post the badge and visit other participants. Hosted by: Alex J. Cavanaugh and Heather Gardner.

Game of Thrones. I had a little schtick written, but came across The Beveled Edge blog tonight and I have to say Beverly Fox really nailed this one.

Not only does Beverly have a YouTube clip showing every death, or a chart explaining why each character had to die, she also has a season by season, episode by episode Boob-O-Meter. Can't beat that with a stick. I humbly bow. Check it out by Clicking Here

Okay, So These Are Character Wannabes and I Have A Thin Budget
Character Log: Last week I posted a character log my editor sent me to better help me define and differentiate my characters. It’s really helped me and I want to share it with you. Just scroll down to the previous post.

And hey, it’s not too late to sign up and get a post up and running for the Blood, Boobs, and Carnage Blogfest!

Road Trip! A to Z T-Shirts!! Character Logs!!!

Who’s Up For A Road Trip? I know I am. But at a much more leisurely pace than the A to Z Challenge. Yep, it’s that time for the 5th Annual Post-Challenge Road. Just find a happy speed and hit cruise control, lower the windows, and play your favorite music. This trip, however, is a meandering journey through the list of participants, at your own pace, with your own rules, and very few expectations.

I know I missed a TON of amazing blogs during this year's Challenge. We had almost 2,000 participants sign up and over 1,500 finish. Like most of you I missed visiting most. But now is an opportunity to hit the road and discover all the blogs still out there, waiting to be found. Simply hop over to the A to Z Main Website for more info by Clicking Here

A to Z T-Shirts: Don’t be the last on your block to get one. You can order your T-Shirt by Clicking Here. Will there be A to Z Commemorative Plates? Time will tell.

Character Log: I mentioned Character Logs on a recent post and some of you asked if I could post one. Here is my Character Log for Debbie Stevens, the wife of Bob Stevens and protagonists of Salem’s Daughters.

Distinguishing Features: Blonde hair shoulder length. Athletic body. A few freckles she’s not ashamed of. Doesn’t need to wear a lot of makeup. Not snobby and doesn’t feel like she needs to wear expensive clothes or put up a front. Funny with a sense of humor, sometimes over the top. Outgoing extrovert, but has wisdom and thinks before she speaks. Usually. Naturally bounding with energy. Very confident in herself. She’s sexy and she knows it, but doesn’t flaunt it. IWSG, Salem's Daughters, and Trilogy Box Sets

IWSG: It’s that time again for the monthly Insecure Writers Support Group, the brainchild of Alex Cavanaugh. I’m co-hosting for Captain Ninja Alex this month, along with Lisa Buie-Collard, Eva Solar, and Melanie Schulz. And right after A to Z. Yay me! Somebody send me a straight jacket

This month I have a dilemma but after a bit of brainstorming the solution was obvious. I wanted to release Salem’s Daughters, previously titled Murcat Manor, this Labor Day Weekend. But my critique group and some of the agents and publishers I queried gave me feedback that put everything on hold.

Nothing earth shattering. Just some minor tweaks here and there that are easily fixed. That being said, I’ve started querying again and have to be realistic October (the month of Halloween) would be a much better target date.

I'll Have a More Professional Image Soon
Silver Lining: I’m combining the Breakthrough trilogy into one e-book box set. That’s kind of the thing now and many of these e-book box sets are hitting Amazon Top 100 rankings in sub genres.

So all is not lost. I have some promos involved to reach brand new audiences. We’ll see what happens. But I’m excited that I’ll have two releases for this year. The Breakthrough Trilogy Box Set this Labor Day Weekend and Salem’s Daughters in October.

Question: Have you had to shuffle release dates and put things on hold knowing it's better this way?

Oh, and don’t forget there are commemorative T-shirts by Clicking Here. I’m not sure, but I think Congress also voted for an A to Z postal stamp. It’s about time they got something done..
