The Great & Powerful Theme Reveal A to Z, Flight MH370, Black Holes, The Weekend Funnies, Wormholes, and Jumper Cables

Whoo Hoo! The day we have all been waiting for. We can now officially announce our themes for the April A to Z Challenge.

My Theme: A bit predicatble, I know. But a whole lot of fun! Okay, here it is: The Wonders and Oddities of our Universe: I can go in so many directions with this one. And I’ll give you a hint of what’s to come. A is for Aliens. And it’s probably not what you think. Unless you watch the news seeking out the smaller stories. Which could turn out to be the Big Story over time!

CNN: Did A Black Hole Make Flight 370 Disappear? Well, CNN has finally made sense of all of this. A black hole may be to blame for th doomed airliner.

The Weekend Follies: No, I have not forgotten. I just posted a day early. Which I can do as I have a wormhole in my garage that I can travel back and forth through space and time. When it runs, that is.

Ummm .... I just need a jump. Yes, I left the lights on. Again. At least I didn't leave my keys in it. Does anyone have any jumper cables?

Weekend Follies: Okay, we will now travel back in time one day. Click to go to Bish Denham’s Blog for Humor in Fiction. See you there.

  1. Wonders And Oddities Of The Universe is such a wide topic. It will be interesting to see the direction you take.
Black holes, wormholes and other related issues... phew! It boggles the brain!
Makes me think of the simulation video over at Mary Pax's blog and the perception vs. reality issue. Are we what we think we are… perception vs. reality… but what reality, or better still, whose reality…?
    A mind trip!

  7. When you buy your next vehicle, make sure it has a "smart" feature for lights. In my minivan, when the doors are left open by all those kids, after a while the interior light shuts off.
Great theme. I think you could write for infinity on space!
I also like the story theories about the airplane. It does pique the imagination, and part of us all want them to be off somewhere surviving and living out an adventure.

  11. Let's go Aliens! I believe most of us don't come across wonders and oddities of the universe in our everyday reading activities, mostly because few people ever go there but somebody's gotta do it and you're taking the lead. Great theme for the challenge!

  13. This is definitely the funnest theme I could think of. Sometimes we need to take a lighter look at the world we live in. Lots of really interesting and outright fascinating stuff that we often never notice.

  14. I know I'll visit you every day. You always remind me why I love science.

  15. Wonders And Oddities Of The Universe... being a science fiction geek with a love for real science means that I plan to be a regular visitor here. This stalking ... err umm ... relationship with likely outlast the A to Z Challenge as I am already intrigued by your blog. Yay for Science!

  16. Gotta love the wonders and oddities. My theme will be the launch of my book Savior on April 18, which oddly enough hinges on one of the quirky possible aspects of our universe, and that's time travel. There is also a bit about Mayan mathematics and doomsday machines in there but to learn more you will have to follow the posts of my A to Z, or Zed as they say in Merry Olde England. Here's a page on my blog I just added about the book

  17. Your A to Z theme is great -- it offers so many possibilities for blog posts!

  18. I know you'll come up with a ton of fun and information.

  19. Great theme, Stephen. You've already got my attention. As for the black hole theory, I guess that means that not all reports are scientists. Some are saying that was a dumb question, but if you don't understand the universe, then it's more of an uninformed question. I think. Can you tell I felt bad for the reporter?

  20. Hi Stephen .. wonders and oddities of our universe will be great fun to read - so pleased you're doing these .. love learning more.

That poor aircraft into a black hole - I don't think so .. even on April 1st I wouldn't think so ... but poor families - just so difficult for everyone - and quite extraordinary .. I wonder if we'll ever find out what happened ... cheers Hilary

  24. Oh, jeezy! What a fun topic -- can't wait to read your thoughts! You had me at "aliens" so I'm eager to see the rest of the alphabet.

I'm participating in AtoZ, as well. My topic is writing in general and my current work-in-progress in particular. See you around!
