Escalation: The Adventures of Chase Manhattan, 2014 Wormfest, Escalation Blog Tour, and the Wayback Machine

Hi everyone. As always, thanks for stopping by. This is a milestone week, chocked full of fun stuff and a feast of good food. So let’s not waste any time and get started!

Escalation: The Adventures of Chase Manhattan - Today is the day! Escalation, the final installment to the Breakthrough trilogy is released and available for download.

Together, Breakthrough, Opening, and Escalation follow the lives of the unlikely participants from innocence to a coming of age through sacrifice, betrayal, passion, lust, unconditional love, and hope. Escalation is an international thriller and will appeal to fans of modern-day science fiction, action, horror, and a bit of romance for the ladies.

Click the cover image (created my very talented nephew Jeremy Tremp) at the top right of my blog. And for the duration of the Escalation Blog Tour, Breakthrough and Opening are available for $0.99.

2014 Second Annual National Wormhole Week (or 2014 Wormfest): For 2014, the theme is to name one thing where science advances mankind, and one where the same technology with unforeseen consequences will go too far and set mankind back.

Of course, my topic will be Einstein-Rosen Bridges, or wormholes. Just think of the endless possibilities of transporting people safely through a wormhole from point A to point B (no time travel though). No more sitting on a congested freeway. No delayed flights or triple intrusive body searches from TSA.

The Downside:

* Illegal drugs could be transported across countries.
* Large sums of money and gold could be stolen from a bank vault. In and out without a trace.
* A nuclear device could appear in the Oval Office and blow everyone up.
*A nuclear device could be delivered to the ten largest cities in the US and detonated on the same day.

Let’s hope, should a breakthrough in wormholes ever happen, it will be destroyed and forgotten the same day.

Escalation Blog Tour: The theme for this event is Bringing Awareness of Science and Science Fiction to our Youth. But we can’t do it on an empty stomach. So we’ll have one epic potluck for the ages and gain some much needed energy for the trip.

First stop is Captain Ninja Alex Cavanaugh’s Blog. This will be a potluck event with a theme. Everyone brings a dish, but it has to have a pun to the name.

I prefer science, sci-fi, book, movie, or music themed food if possible. But it will be open to any and all food puns. You leave the food you’re bringing in Alex’s comments. Example: I’m bringing Square Pies (Pi) and Interstellar Cookies. They’re out of this world.

The Wayback Machine: Yep, just as in years past, we will use clever ways to travel from my blog to the host’s blog. And today we go in style. Mr. Peabody allowed me to borrow his Wayback Machine. He owes me. For what? Well, let's just keep that silent for now. But I have pictures. Thank you, Mr. Peabody.

Alex Cavanaugh's Trilogy
But Don’t Worry:    It’s safe. On my first Blog Tour for Breakthrough we returned 79.8 percent of passengers back alive and in one piece. For Escalation, we did much better at an 87.1 percent clip. This time I’m sure we can surpass the 90 percent milestone. And who knows, maybe we’ll find some of the missing participants from years past along the way. You've probably wondered about those bloggers who mysteriously stopped coming by your Website.

On Tuesday we are at JL Campbell’s The Character Depot.
On Wednesday we stop my Mary Pax’s Website.

Finally: To download Escalation: The Adventures of Chase Manhattan CLICK HERE.

Finally Part Deux: If you log into Twitter this week, please stop by #Escalation and Retweet some of the Tweets I have there.

Finally Part Trois: If you think this post is worthy, please give it a Tweet or a Facebook share. Thanks!

So buckle up and let’s go! It’s off to Alex Cavanaugh’s Blog. And check out his books CassaStar, CassaFire, and CassaStorm books too!

Who knew wormholes could be so damned dangerous.

  2. Wormholes would be a dangerous thing.
I could use the Wayback machine for more blood, boobs, and carnage.
And big congratulations on your release! Everyone stop by real early tomorrow morning!!

  5. I would love wormholes! I frequently think how nice it would be to remove the travel time from everything. But I hadn't thought much about the downside...good points!

  6. Sounds like wormholes could be dangerous but it's fun thinking about new amazing science advances. Congrats on your book release!

  7. Who knows? Maybe we will see a breakthrough in wormholes in our lifetime. Maybe someone already has made such a discovery.

  8. Congratulations on the new book and thanks for the fun blogfest, although I think I missed the point with my choice.

  10. Congrats, Stephen! Sending a bomb to the White House would be a bad thing. Or, maybe not...?

  11. Great send-off for you book! Wormhole... hadn't thought of them being used as you described. That would be scary indeed!

  12. I am sure you are absolutely right and if there were wormholes, the drug trade would figure out how to channel them to their nefarious purposes. Just look how resourceful they were on Breaking Bad!

  13. Congrats and best of luck with Escalation!!

  14. Congrats, Stephen! I realized I forgot to include the buy link in my blog post today. I fixed it :)

  15. Congrats on Escalation and all the best with it!!
I agree - wormholes would be fantastic ... as long as they were only used for good :)

  16. Congratulations, Stephen. Wishing you much success.

  17. Congratulations on the book release! Very cool to discount the previous installments for those of us who *ahem* have been living in caves and have not had the chance to read them yet. :O)

  20. I think you've imagined the evil scientists, and villains very well, Stephen. Good Luck with Escalation! Will check out the launch sites as they occur.

  21. I wish you the highest sales today!! You blackmailed Mr. Peabody? Shame on you. :-)

  22. Congratulations! I hope your sales are interstellar! Wormholes could definitely be used in good and detrimental ways. If I had a wormhole handy, I might use it to get away from pesky visitors. And definitely to avoid bad traffic.

  23. Good luck on your big week. I'll have my review up for Escalation soon.

  24. I had fun describing how my characters felt traversing wormholes. Sometimes it was a pleasant one, other times terrifying.

  25. You've chosen a great scientific development, and I like how you pointed out the downside to having instant wormhole travel available. I've read several great ideas on this hop. There's grist for many sic-fi novels here.

    Congrats on that book.

  26. Stephen, I've always loved your well-written blog posts. What you write on a regular basis proves to me you are a master of the craft. Can't wait to check out your new work!!!

  27. Wormholes would be safe in my hands. I'd put them to good use.

Some great entries in the Wormfest so far.

Such greatness in your blog today!
Wormholes are pretty inspiring and completely frightening. :)

  30. The way back machine. I haven't thought of that in years!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Back over to Alex's for more food. Some of it is very, well, creative.

  32. I don't think I could take all those instant shocks and surprises. It would be so confusing, in fact, psychologically detrimental. I'm able to see the fun part of a wormhole, but it' when the fun stops and the illegal starts when it becomes scary.
Thanks so much for this blog hop - now - this is fun.

  33. Congratulations on the new release, Stephen! Here's to sales that are outta this world... even without a wormhole.

  34. I love it when a plan comes together. I must get me a wayback machine, it sounds like an epic blast.

  35. Congratulations and you know I'm wishing you tons of success with your new book, Stephen!
